The first in a series of hearings called for by State Senator Eric Schneiderman. The State Senate majority will be voting on a reform bill to address the problem at the same time it votes (yet again) on whether to reinstate the death penalty. (Last spring, the State Senate voted to reinstate the death penaly while voting to ignore wrongful convictions.) Among those who will testify are Martin Tankleff, former Duke Lacrosse defendant Reed Seligman, and Barry Scheck.
